Welcome, Class of 2035

A Ridgemont classroom on the first day of school

Twenty-one kindergarteners started their Ridgemont years on Monday morning, each greeted at the front steps by an eighth-grade buddy and walked to the kindergarten classroom for a first look at the reading corner. It is a tradition as old as the school itself, and one we look forward to each August.

Mrs. Reilly and the Lower School team are looking forward to a wonderful year in the K room. Our new families come to us from Sheridan, Big Horn, Story, Ranchester, and — for one family — as far as Buffalo. They join eight returning kindergarten siblings from Ridgemont families we already know well.

The full 2026–2027 enrollment now stands at 142 students across K–8, a number that keeps our classes small and our community close-knit.

To all of our new families: welcome. To our returning families: thank you for opening the door with such warmth. It is going to be a good year.

— Dr. Margaret A. Halloran, Head of School
