MATHCOUNTS Team Advances to State

Coach Peter Kowalski’s MATHCOUNTS squad finished third out of eleven teams at the Northeast Wyoming chapter meet in Gillette on Saturday, earning four Ravens — Owen L., Sophie C., Marcus V., and eighth-grade captain Elena T. — individual berths at the state competition in Casper on March 15.

The chapter meet was Ridgemont’s fifth appearance at the competition and its best finish to date. “These students have been meeting at 7 a.m. twice a week since October,” Coach Kowalski said. “They earned every point.”
